Alcaraz on playing doubles with Nadal at the Olympics:

Alcaraz on playing doubles with Nadal at the Olympics: "It would be a dream".

Carlos Alcaraz, two-time winner in Madrid, kicks off his tournament this Friday against Kazakhstan's Alexander Shevchenko (ranked 59th in the world). The match will be an opportunity for the Spaniard to get back into action (he has been absent from the courts since Miami).

In an interview with Marca, Carlito spoke about one of the major events of the 2024 season. He talked about the Paris Olympic Games, which are drawing ever closer.

Asked about a potential doubles appearance with Rafael Nadal, the world number 3 was strangely impressed: "I've met him in recent days, at the last few tournaments, and the truth is that I haven't spoken to him about it. I don't know, it's something that would make me very happy, it would be a dream. [...] I have to tell him. I know he can't wait to play with me. I've already said a thousand times that it would be great to play doubles with him at my first Olympic Games." (comments relayed by Marca).

What a fantastic match between these two ladies, with Iga getting the win, to collect her 3rd WTA 1000 title & trophy of 2024. 👏👌

A true final between the top two players, seeded one and two! This is the way it should be at least 50 percent of the time.
